It is understood that Drinkwater is interested in the move. Chelsea are also keen on Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Juventus left-back Alex Sandro, Everton's Ross Barkley and  Swansea's Fernando Llorente  and Antonio Conte made a fresh call for signings after Sunday's 2-0 victory over Ronald Koeman's team. Liverpool prepare £60m bid for Monaco midfielder-Thomas Lemar:

Image
Liverpool are prepared to test Monaco's resolve to keep midfielder Thomas Lemar with a club record offer of about £60m before Thursday's transfer deadline. Manager Jurgen Klopp is an admirer of the 21-year-old and while no official bid has yet been tabled, there is definite interest from Anfield. Any move for Lemar is not linked to the future of midfielder Philippe Coutinho. Liverpool have rejected three offers from Barcelona for the Brazilian, the latest in  the region of £114m. France international Lemar, who can play centrally or out wide, also attracted interest from Arsenal this summer, but Gunners boss Arsene Wenger claimed their interest in the player was "dead" after insisting Monaco had closed the door on further sales. The Ligue 1 champions have already sold Bernardo Silva and Benjamin Mendy to Manchester City and Tiemoue Bakayoko to Chelsea - with teenage striker Kylian Mbappe also on the brink of joining Paris St-Germain. A record deal for...

Everton are hoping to agree a deal worth about £10m for Hajduk Split's teenage forward Nikola Vlasic. The 19-year-old is a Croatia Under-21 international and can play in both midfield and attack. He impressed Everton manager Ronald Koeman and director of football Steve Walsh in their recent Europa League qualifying tie with Hajduk. Koeman is intent on signing a high-profile striker and left-sided defender before Thursday's transfer deadline. Everton already have enjoyed a productive transfer window, completing a club record £45m deal  for Swansea's Gylfi Sigurdsson,  re-signing Wayne Rooney  from Manchester United and spending a potential £30m each on centre-back  Michael Keane  and goalkeeper  Jordan Pickford. They have also signed midfielder  Davy Klaassen for £23.6m  and striker  Sandro Ramirez for £5.2m. However, striker  Romelu Lukaku joined Manchester United for £75m  and Toffees boss Ronald Koeman has indicat...

Liverpool have agreed a club record deal to sign RB Leipzig's Naby Keita, with the midfielder moving to Anfield in July 2018.The Reds have agreed to pay the £48m release clause that will allow the 22-year-old to move next summer, plus an undisclosed premium. Keita had been one of Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp's primary targets this summer, but Leipzig refused to sell. The deal will surpass the £35m paid to Newcastle for Andy Carroll in 2011. RB Leipzig finished second behind Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga last season, meaning they qualified for the Champions League group stage. Liverpool had already had two offers for the Guinea international rejected this summer - the second understood to be about £70m - but now a compromise deal has been reached where Leipzig keep their prize asset this season and Klopp gets the player next summer. So far this summer, Liverpool have signed winger Mohamed Salah from Roma for £34m, full-back Andrew Robertson from Hull for £8m an...

chamberlin fee agreed

The 24-year-old was recently in action against Liverpool where the Gunners lost 4-0 The Ox, 24, now has to discuss personal terms with Antonio Conte’s Blues. And the Italian boss must persuade him that joining his Premier League champions is the right move for him. But their offer of £35m now and £5m in add-ons has given them the edge over their Scouse rivals ahead of Thursday’s 11pm transfer deadline. Oxlade-Chamberlain is out of contract next summer and  rejected an offer of £180,000-a-week to stay at the Emirates . Arsenal were crushed 4-0 at Liverpool on Sunday  and boss Jurgen Klopp believes he can get the best out of the frustrated midfielder and place him at the heart of his team. Gunners insiders claim the club would prefer to do business with Chelsea rather than Liverpool because of the fallout over their Luis Suarez bid

Ian Wright - calls for Arsene Wenger to quit Arsenal

Image
The legendary forward would not hide his frustration at the performances at the start of the season and he could only lay blame at Wegner’s door. With several players out of contract and Oxlade-Chamberlain moving to bitter Premier League rivals Chelsea, Wright is convinced the manager has lost the dressing room and that it’s time for him to leave. ‘Where do we start? The amount of things that are going wrong, it does come back to Arsene Wenger’s door,’ he told the BBC. ‘We’re three games in and we’re literally at crisis point.

dembele to barcelona done deal

Image
Dembele is a player Barcelona have been following for several years.  They wanted to sign him last summer when he left Rennes for just €15m , but he opted to move to Dortmund instead, where he felt he would have more opportunities to play regular football. Barca followed up their interest with the Bundesliga club earlier this summer, but it was only following Neymar's exit that they stepped up their efforts to push a deal through. After having an initial bid rejected, reported to be in the region of €100m, Dembele left Dortmund training without leave and was subsequently  suspended by the German club , paving the way for an agreement to be reached last week. Dembele becomes Barca's fifth signing of the summer, along with the arrivals of Marlon Santos, Gerard Deulofeu, Nelson Semedo and Paulinho. Ernesto Valverde has suggested he will not be the last, with the Barca coach saying on Saturday  he hopes to have "an even better team"  when the transfer window...

Manchester United 100% start maintained

Substitutes Marcus Rashford and Marouane Fellaini both scored as Manchester United overcame a resolute Leicester to strengthen their position at the top of the Premier League. Jose Mourinho's side had applied incessant pressure on the Foxes from kick-off, and Romelu Lukaku missed a second-half penalty prior to the goals, as they found it difficult to break the steadfast backline. They finally breached the last line of defence when Rashford converted Henrikh Mkhitaryan's corner three minutes after coming on. And then midfielder Fellaini stuck out his knee to divert fellow substitute Jesse Lingard's drive past Kasper Schmeichel. United are the only side to have won all three of their opening league games this season and have yet to concede a goal.

With the added return of Champions League football, the Italian boss knows he needs more options in a physically demanding role on the flanks. And Juventus star Sandro is the man firmly at the top of his wish list. The Blues have been in talks with Juve for some time over Sandro but the Serie A champions are playing hardball over any potential transfer
